Matagal-tagal na pong recognized ang Pinoy sa animation skills nila. Way back in the early 1990's pa lang, ang Universal at Fox studios ay nag-hire ng maraming local talent and brought them and their families to California, Nevada, and Arizona and even Australia to work in their studios. When Fox closed its animation studio, some of the animators were hired by Disney to produce their films "George of the Jungle" at "Anastasia".

Watch the credits of Toy Story and other well-known animated movies and you are bound to find Pinoys on the list (They usually have three names, hehehe!).

Wala pa akong naririnig na NGO na nagbibigay ng scholarship o educational assistance sa mga Pinoy sa Thailand. Kung mayroon man, siguro galing sa isang Faith-based organization.

MANILA, Philippines - Amid fears that there is an anti-Philippines sentiment in the city due to the recent hostage crisis, a group of teenagers from Hong Kong showed their love for Filipinos based there.

The group, said to be led by a certain Jessie Lau, went around central Hong Kong on August 29, 6 days after a hostage incident in Manila ended in the death of 8 Hong Kong tourists.

Carrying cardboard signs that read "We love Filipinos," the teenagers approached Filipino workers in the area, expressed their sympathy over the tragic incident, and gave them hugs.

All of these were recorded on video, which was posted on social networking site Facebook.

Flight lands safely in LA after bomb threat

    * Published: 8/09/2010 at 12:41 PM
    * Online news:

Thai Airways flight TG794 en route from Bangkok to Los Angeles had landed safely following a bomb threat, Surapol Isarakura na Ayutthaya, head of crisis management at Thai Airways International, said on Wednesday.

He spoke after THAI president Piyasvasti Amranand confirmed to the Bangkok Post that there was a bomb threat on the plane, a non-stop flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles.

Mr Surapol said a member of the cabin crew found a message written on a toilet mirror saying there was a bomb on the plane.

The aircraft, an A340-500 carrying 179 passengers and crew, left Bangkok at 7.30pm Tuesday. It landed at Los Angeles (LAX) at 10.51 am Thailand time as scheduled, Mr Surapol said. All on board were safe.

Mr Surapol said US authorities searched the aircraft after it landed and had so far found no bomb.

The message was discovered about an hour before the plane was scheduled to land, Mr Piyasvasti said.

The captain had decided to continue the flight to its scheduled destination, added.

Poverty and lack of economic opportunity make women and children potential victims of traffickers associated with international criminal organizations. They are vulnerable to false promises of job opportunities in other countries. Many of those who accept these offers from what appear to be legitimate sources find themselves in situations where their documents are destroyed, their selves or their families threatened with harm, or they are bonded by a debt that they have no chance of repaying.

While women and children are particularly vulnerable to trafficking for the sex trade, human trafficking is not limited to sexual exploitation. It also includes persons who are trafficked into 'forced' marriages or into bonded labor markets, such as sweat shops, agricultural plantations, or domestic service. The prevention of human trafficking requires several types of interventions. Some are of low or moderate cost and can have some immediate impact, such as awareness campaigns that allow high risk individuals to make informed decisions. Strong laws that are enforced are an effective deterrent. However, serious law enforcement is expensive.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"

I was able to use Platinum Transpeed before and they even recommend somebody to pickup my items from somehwehe outside of Bangkok, very good service indeed.

However I have a new shipment now where the item (electronic items) will come from Lamchabang, Chonburi area. Called Platinum but they said that this contact had gone to province.

Can you recommend a trucking service or maybe just somebody who has a car who can pick up these items for me and bring it to Platinum Transpeed for packing/shipping?

Thank you very much.

For those who are unaware of what stoning is: STOP STONING! (https://secure.avaaz.org/en/stop_stoning/?hp)

Stoning is an ancient and brutal method of justice meted out by primitive peoples. It is women that are mostly victims of this methodical way of dying.

If you think that stoning means merely grabbing pebbles and tossing them rather weakly at a fleeing human being, please educate yourself. Stoning entails the victim being buried up to their necks in the grounds. People stand around the person, usually family members, and throw large rocks at the head until the person dies. It is customary to call the whole village or town to the location so that they can witness this slow, painful, and bloody death. Why are they stoned? For the dumbest of reasons: being human.

Again, a majority of victims or stoning are WOMEN. If you are a woman, you should care that your Muslim sisters are treated like this in their own religion and culture. Stoning should stop, we must not be content to just say "that is what their (Islamic, Shariah, or whatever) laws require". It is cruel, unjust, and violates very very basic human rights.

Iran, and the rest of the Islamic world must stop stoning and "honor killings". It is evil and are senseless and irrelevant acts in today's world. Lend your voice, sign petitions, write to governments.

FDT on Domination Perception:

What is happening to me? Am I getting so sick? I cannot even appreciate the successful ventures in my life, all done single-handed. I am successful and all that. I have money and all that. I have what it takes to be called a perfect human being, but I am sick - so sick that I cannot even look at the world squarely.

That was the question…and pronouncement from an over-the-top professional, wealthy friend of mine. He was indeed OTT. He had been uttering out-of-this-world statements which I myself couldn’t imagine speaking out. If he was successful, why bother? If he had lots of money, why whine? Come on, life is about success and money. If you have them, then you have arrived…big time! All successful and wealthy people need not to scamper, but must take bigger steps to dominate first himself then the world. It is gracious! Domination must be the name of a successful person’s game!

Dominate yourself! I told him that. But, how to? Well, I also told him to loosen himself up, not his brain screws though – just himself. He had to do something upbeat to go back and make the world appreciate him. It should be the world that must appreciate him, and not the reverse. He ought to stop being a lay person for he was not. How could he forget this? The power laid right in his hands! I meritoriously told him that his life is good, perfect even! It needed no modification and he needed to tell the world that! Tell the world about his greatness, success and…his invincibility! He has to think that way! Invincibility exists because he has reached the pinnacle of life wherein people will bow down and be envious forever. I have told him he is a god now! A god in all its making! (Excuse me, praisers!)

What am I forgetting then? The markings or the makings of a real praise-worthy human? I seem to have missed something here…somewhere even.

Help me then. Help me recognize a human god…or goddess? For all I know, I have declared once that I am…Duh!

you have any idea how much is the house rental or monthly cost of living dun? sa mga taga pathumthani, tulong naman po...tyty.

Gamer, FYI, house rentals are low in provinces like Pathumtani. If a modest apartment costs 3500 Baht per month in Bangkok (not center), it will be like 2000 Baht in the provinces not including electricity, water and all. Let's talk about a studio-type middle-class condo unit. Such things are priced from 7k-9k Baht in Bangkok, so cut at least 2k and you'll have the same facilities in the provinces.

If you want me to help you look for a modest accommodation, that can be arranged in this upcoming sem break...he he he :-)) :-)) :-))

In this case then, can we provide "movement sanctions" to shenanigans like this one? I don't know where it will fall under the law, definitely not a violation of freedom of expression...Duh!
