I have had some inquiries lately with regards to the renewal of our Green Philippine Passport. Some say that they needed to be renewed by 2010 irregardless of the expiration date. This prompted me to email our kind Consul Mr. Randy Arquiza and here is his reply regarding this matter.



The validity of the passport extends until the date of expiry, but please be reminded that you have to renew the passport within 7 months from such date, since it takes a month, more or less, to process the MRP. So, if the passport expires in june 2010, better renew asap."

Panu po kaya un? Ang expire ng passport (green) ko sa March 2011 pa nman. Pero kelangan lagi mag visa run every 2 months.

Elektra, sa pagkakaintindi ko. Hindi ka papayagan na mag travel sa ibang bansa, except if you are going back to the Philippines, kung ang passport mo ay mageexpire within 6 months. Kaya nga the embassy advised to renew your green passport within seven months before the expiration of the green passport. 1 month is allotted for the processing and at least 6 months before the expiration of your green passport. So, dapat in your case, dapat before the first week of September you file for your passport renewal na. Hope this helps

ah... I see. Okay sa September, 2010 na po ako mag apply ng renewal. Salamat po!

Im holding a green passport and its valid until august 2011 but im almost out of pages which is sux!!! Will i hope to get some extra pages at our embassy if its possible or a new passpot if not. Thanks for the info...

madam as far as i know, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months for you renew your visa, general rule po yata ito. so kung less than 6 months po baka hindi i-renew ang visa nyo, based po yun sa 3 different countries na napuntahan ko, better check na lang the immigration website regarding that matter.

Magrenew na po kayo ng passport sa embassy habang meron pang natitirang pages na magagamit habang inaantay ang bagong passport. Pagkaapply po ng renewal eh ibabalik ang passport sa inyo saka po ulit isurrender pag kukunin na ang bago (after 1 month). Yan lang po ang alam ko. Thanks and i hope it helps... Cheers!!!

Gonna share po, i hope it helps...

Tanong niyo po is kelangan ang passport sa visa run habang pinaprocess ang new passport? Tama po ba? Habang pinaprocess po ung new passport na inaplayan niyo eh nasa sa inyo pa rin po yong dati kasi gagamitin niyo po yan kahit saan kayo magpunta at sa pagrenew ng visa. Hindi po hahawakan ng embassy yan, ipapakita niyo lang po pag mag apply saka isusurrender for cancellation pag meron na po new passport. That's all and thanks!!!

kung magtravel kayo sa ibang bansa advisable nga na MRP na ang passport ngayon kasi mas mabilis sa immigration lalo na maging masaya ang mga officers dahil hindi na sila sanay magtype in ng info. kaya observation ng iba na hindi pa MRP nakasimangot ang officers then matagal dahil magtype sila e kung di sila sanay sa pagtype ayun mas lalong nakasimangot.
