What do you do when you get homesick while abroad? 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 58
There are those of us who are lucky enough to simply join our families and friends when we go out of the Philippines to seek greener pastures. But for those who were not dealt the same cards in life, what do you do to beat the blues; when you are struck by homesickness when you are abroad?

Here are just a few recommendations; please feel free to add more.

> Find the best; the loudest; the most fun Filipino band in your area and drown the blues in music! Who knows, you might even bump into fellow Pinoys there, and end up meeting new friends to hang out with. When in Sukhumvit Road, I recommend you check out the Huntsman Pub at the basement of Landmark Hotel, just a few meters after soi nana. The band rocks!

> Go to church. Better yet, check out the Sunday mass at 5:00PM along Krungthep Kritha Road, near Srinakharin. Check out the thread on this here in the forum and you'll find the map. There are no words to describe the feeling you get when you hear Tagalog songs being sung, and to pray in Tagalog. After the mass, do share some food with fellow churchgoers. And yes, again, do make new friends.

> Hang out here in Siam Pinoy. I assure you, you'll find some entertainment, lots of information, and plenty of friends. Spend your weekend quietly finding your way around the site. Come Monday, you'll feel ready to get back to work without looking so blue.

'Just a few thoughts... do add more, SP.
