IF your attitude is not right, then even if you are surrounded by good friends and the best facilities, you cannot be happy. This is why mental attitude is more important than external conditions. Despite this, it seems to me that many people are more concerned about their external conditions and neglect the inner attitude of mind. I suggest that we should pay more attention to our inner qualities ( quoted from the meditations on happiness Dalai Lama Daily Advice)

A few observations about my Thai ESL students 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 28
I taught at the AUA for a spell. One of my observations about Thai students is they're wonderful students and so much fun to teach. Very personable, very respectful, and generally maintain a positive attitude. It's a different story with my Korean students who seem to have a wider spectrum running from the downright contrary to the totally sold.

Another thing I noticed was the way they handled exam scores. Thai students are not ashamed to let their test scores be known by their classmates. I must have looked pretty silly trying to keep their scores confidential after each quiz since they would get their papers and show it to anyone who wanted to look. This is so different from Filipino students who generally don't want their test scores known by their classmates.

Then there's the matter of recitation. Thai students don't like to "show off" by appearing to know all the right answers, even if they do. I have seen excellent students intentionally pass up opportunities to recite in favor of their weaker classmates. I like that! So considerate

Two things I have learned:

At demonstration teaching day, the Thai teachers observe a foreign Teacher or group of Filipino teachers. The Thai teachers will decide then who is the chosen one. One who teaches well with understandable English language will be appointed. Second option, the one with acceptable appearance or personality.

hunting a teaching job is an adventure. is it easy to get a teaching job? my answer is yes and no. less of yes and more of no. why?

one situation: a small school is looking for only two teachers and they will screen 15 or 20 applicants.

situation 2: an institute needs one teacher to replace the one who has left for good. this institute will be accepting 50 applicants and screen the 50 and decide to choose one.

the demonstration day comes, competition comes. there you are either tense or excited. the system is screening. you do all your best at teaching because you are being observed and evaluated.

two situations tell us not all can get such job. but life gives hope. we need to face it and never give up. let us raise a question what do they really want or what are they looking for a teacher? i guess the priority is a good voice, next is appearance, and at demo - one who can deliver a topic or lesson well.

Peace YOU!

are you kidding? if it is true, you are one of the students. there are students who are in love to teachers. do you know about the term, "teacher's pet"? a student who is in love to teacher write, draw, and give letter as an expression of "crush" or favorite person at school. these students also do to each other classmates.

Master J, you make me a student by giving me more assignments. I think you really love school life. Image two pupils in a classroom English class strive together for the attention of the pretty teacher. Naturally, most of us must have experienced such feeling of attraction when we were young.

PKM220, we are all students as long as we don't stop doing our assignments. When do you think we stop being students? Where do you think this attraction comes from?

Are we all students? I think so, too. we are learning something the same and new all about life and love. The relation between students and teachers are very important. That attraction develops from their relationship.
