Need accomodation advice :) 2 Years ago Karma: 0
Hello,
Pwede tolong? I am planing to go to Bankok this coming April and I am looking for a cheap accomodation close to sukhumvit soi area. I am looking for a single room aircondition with bathroom. I don't have any idea how much it cost or maybe anybody can suggest a english website for accomodation close to this area.

Arnel,

I don't have enough information but I heard the cheapest(s) are in Khaosan Road. It's a backpacker's haven and heard one can get the most affordble rooms in there, how much is your budget, btw? You may want to google khaosan hotels as well, or trip advisor for more info, at least you can get details and real testimonies of those who have the experience. Good luck.

khao san is the best choice for you. you can find rooms as low as 300 hundred baht (i just don't know how it looks like, to be honest) and its bit far from sukumvit main road. try along onut or prakanong area, cheaper than other BTS station. I advise you to get a BTS day pass so you can save with your transpo expenses. good luck!

Onut & Phrakhanong is getting close to Sukhumvit, you may want to use the BTS station and less time you will reach Sukhumvit. Onut station is the last. Phrakanong is close to Onut. I usually take the Phrakhanong station (BTS) because it is closest to mine or Ekkamai station. Try google Thaivisa.com for room for rent or hotel accommodation. Most Pinoys who are living and working here are staying in condo like us (MC,gigs and I) and apartment for those who have family here already.

MC and Gigs are right.

It is not advisable to rent an apartment or condo if you will only stay days or week here because they will ask you a deposit/advance and some of them (if not all) need you to sign a contract for a minimum of 6 months or a year.

I know there is like a transit house in Ramkamhaeng 164 near 7-11 but I am not sure how much as I don't understand Thai writing, I saw 200 or 250 per day (not sure) and I don't know how it looks like.

The hotel rooms rate depends if it's peak season so the rate will increase by April because it is a holiday here so don't dare to book hehehehe unless you have sufficient resources, then no problem. April is a big holiday here - Songkran (Buddhist New year?). Be ready to get wet on the road

Goodluck, Arnel!

Thanks Elektra for this wonderful info..... Guys another option for short time thingy. But please make sure that Elektra won't catch you there.. I'm gonna try this short time condo as what Elektra said, its big and clean and it has its own bathroom. I think this is the place where couple used to go after they finish partying in Minburi..

hahaha I won't mind if I catch them, but I rarely go out specially at night or dawn hehehe. I have not notice that they accepted daily rate until yesterday, when a gay said "check out", I was surprised and inquired about it. I have not seen obvious prostitutes checking in in our condo, the gay yesterday is a little decent (the way he dress). It is quiet as well in here.

The cashiers are conservative, too. Mr. Fit, you said you might want to try it here good luck hahahaha. Pretty sure I wont catch you and I wont give a damn because I respect privacy hahahaha. Our main entrance is diferent from the daily rates and we will not bother you Ciao! Happy New Year and Happy Valentines all! Happy Putukan na sa inyo!
