Ikaw? kaya mo pa bang sabihing "Pinoy Ako!!!"?

I am still proud to be Pinoy, but i am not proud of the system in place in our country, which breeds bombs-in-the-making, as what the recent tragedy exemplified.
Because we fail to check corruption, extortion, etc, kaya may mga pangyayaring ganito. Dahil parang kung anu-ano na lang, pwedeng gawin, kaya nangyayari ang mga ganitong pangyayari.
However, for those of us outside the Philippines, to remain proud, kailangang we have to be proactive. We have to move, we have to do things on our own, our of our own initiative to own up to our country's mistake. We can't hide from it. It is part of our reality.
For us just to be proud, without us doing anything to remind the world what our other (positive) qualities are, is also, not going to produce any positive results.
Our pride for being Filipinos should be a cause for us to sometimes bow our heads down, and take some responsibility. Hindi pwedeng sa glory lang tayo kasama, dapat, kasama din tayo in times like this, when something DID go wrong.
Yes, Mendoza acted on his own conscience, and the whole Filipino nation is not to blame for it, but our society forces people into becoming who they are, and our lives are influenced by the day to day frustrations of living in a place where the law is not something to be respected, nor followed...or maybe those of us who do, find justice so slow that we resort to the unthinkable.

And I always believe in the saying "If given a lemon, make lemonade!". The blunder of a few people should not speak for the whole populace. Such things also happened (though not the exact situation) to several advance nations before they became what we call now as the First World Countries. The way I see it, it is an opportunity for our government, law enforcers and the other agencies of the government to upgrade themselves. And hopefully, the one motivation for them would be to know that the world is watching. Yes, I am still Proud to be a Pinoy!
Kayo?

Kayo, proud ba kayo? ano gagawin nyo?

oo naman ... still proud to be a filipino dahil ang mga nangyari (bus incident and miss univ) part lang ng buhay yan. kaya kung saang sulok man tayo ng mundo patuloy tayong maging "light and salt' ng buhay sa community at sa ating mga pamilya. malalampasan din natin itong mga nangyari as a nation ... matibay ang pinoy, and hope ng lahat we all learn from this esp those who are in leadership ... in our own small ways let us redeem kung ano man yong nawala sa paningin ng iba, by being diligent, honest, forgiving, kind, faithful to our workmates, employers, friends, family...

Yes, I am. Definitely. Just don't ask me about our government. It's obvious if our leaders have been doing their repsonsibilites well, I'm sure Philippines is far way better than what she is now. I'm not blaming, just contemplating the fact that if responsibilties are done great surely there are more accomplishments and results. Don't ask me on my compatriot's lapses either, as other people in other countries we all have wrongdoings and some faults are unfair to be blamed to all, nor to generalize. Glad I've heard more Filipinos bringing prestige to the country. That adds to my reasons why I'm still proud being a FILIPINO.

I believe so, too... hopefully, the right people in the positions of power will realize it, too...an dmoreimportantly, would act on it.
