The event was attended by 90 members and friends. The program started with the election of a new set of officers. First Secretary and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy, Edgar Badajos, inducted the newly elected officers of the said organization.
The Hon. Board Member Cariño S. Tamang of the Province served as the keynote speaker at the event and shared his insights about the importance of unity. He also added that it is a great help for the organization to have its legal and pastoral advisers as mediators. He further urged the ACT to be strong and to continue the good works that the organization has already started.
Sinauliyan - A Love Story amidst Tribal War
Twenty-eight government employees from the Mountain Province Provincial Capitol in the Philippines were invited to perform a musical play production during the said anniversary. As a short background, Sinauliyan means “lost and regained”. It is a play revisiting the tribal wars of long ago among the Igorots in the Mountain Province. The play portrayed the cause and effect of tribal conflicts, which eventually led to the peace process brought about by intermarriages between tribes.
To date, the ACT is an active organization representing the Philippines in Thailand during cultural shows. Across the borders, it also extends its hand to whatever extent the organization has to offer to any Igorot (OFW) who is in need of help.
