Worldwide Photo Walk - China Town, Bangkok

Chinatown - a cacophony of rich colors, images and people: the food and fruits, the temples and shrines, the vendors and their wares, and the streets that are always teeming with people. It's an endless flurry of activities. And last Saturday, the 18th of July 2009, Chinatown was just like that, all abustle... the buyers all intent on finding their precious knick-knacks to take home and the sellers all intent on disposing as much of their products as possible. After all, it was nearly closing time. And there we were, 40 or so of us, trying to be invisible on the sides... a forefinger ready to click away and freeze that special moment in time.

It was a special day for the SPAS (Siam Pinoy Aperture Society), not only because it was the first time for us all to join Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk, but mainly so because it was great to be amidst photographers of different nationalities and experiences. It's always a learning experience to see how other photographers work; to see which images capture other's interests is inspiring. It gives one a different perspective on things.

And afterwards, everyone is excited to see each other's photos taken during the walk.

So watch out for the blogs, photos and links which will be posted soon. We hope to do this again next year and find the same faces there, along with new ones, too. Meanwhile, you can join and mingle with other photographers here (Worldwide Photo Walk Group). And watch for other activities the SPAS will have in the near future.

View photos during the walk here.
