I like school openings. I don't know if all teachers are that way, but i sense an excitement in many of us when the first day of school approaches. Perhaps it is because it also brings back many exciting memories of school openings in the past...way back when we were students. For me, it always meant new notebooks, a new bag, a new pair of shoes, new uniforms, new classmates, new teachers, and always, you go up another year level...reaching towards (we didn't really know what it was we were reaching for, did we?)
