Tags >> Backgrounds in Photography

Lots of us mostly started by taking photos of subject which mostly appeals to us. Never minding whether we are following rules or guidelines laid out by those who came before us whom we refer to as PROs.

Eventually as you grow with the craft, you start to wonder why such photos affects you or is pleasing to the eye. What is even interesting is that if a certain photographer could produce such photos consistently. Well, that is why they are called the PROs. But being new to the craft does not mean to say you can't take photos that standout like those of the PROs.

Well, here are the tips I've learned from different photographers on how to make your photos standout.

1. Pay attention to the background.     Before taking the shot, make sure you have an  uncluttered background. If you can't help it, at least make the background compliment your subject.

2. Identify your subject and subject matter.
For example you decided that your subject is "Happy" or "Happiness". Find something like people smiling, laughing which will stand as your "subject matter" to compliment your subject which is "Happiness".

3. What's the story?
At times, capturing the story alone is more than enough to give you a very touching or moving photograph. But then again, if you could add the above elements to the shot that would make your photo standout from the rest.
